New Year, New Me...?

New Year, New Me...? That's something we all hear whenever a new year comes around but it's not something I believe in. I don't think it's possible for someone to be a completely new person every year. I'm not the only one who doesn't like that phrase because a lot of people prefer to say, 'new year, new and improved me'. That phrase is a little better but personally, I'll go with new year, same me but upgraded :) I just realized I jumped right into it without an introduction, so here we go. **************************************************************************************************** Hello, hi how are you doing? How's life? (reply in the comments down below) Happy new year and decade! I hope your 2020 has been amazing so far! It's me teenagehood misfits, alive once again. Since I'm alive again after a long while, a new life update is long overdue with a mix of some new years resolutions (NYR). Firstly,...

Me, People & Friends

*DISCLAIMER* Before I begin, I usually adopt a tone in which I'm advising you (the readers) because it's easier for me and helps me get my tenses, pronouns and point of views correctly. You are, of course, under no obligation to follow anything I say because everyone goes through different things. All of the "advice" I'll be giving is based on the knowledge of my experiences, so you all should take with a pinch of salt.  My views will probably change as I get older and experience things differently. A lot of us tend to put too much weight and importance on things that are somewhat mediocre to other people such as friendships. Not everyone shares the same values or ideas on friendships like others do hence we tend to overthink certain things that happen.  Let me explain with a bit of context.  I used to do this but I eventually learnt and stopped doing it. That is, thinking people value me as much as I value them. For example, I used to be rea...

Life Update

Hey guys, so I know I've been inactive for a long while but it's summer once again so I think I can attempt to be consistent once again. I'll aim to post every 2 to 3 weeks since I already have things half written that need to be completed. My first post would be sometime at the end of this week or beginning of next week, so you can look forward to that. In the meantime, you can read other posts on my page. For those of you that are seeing this for the first time and/or have been here since day one, I don't think I've ever properly introduced myself to you all so I'll take this opportunity to do so.  I'm a 17 year old current high school graduate. I'll be going to University in Europe this September to study Psychology. So a lot of my future posts would be about different things such as adjusting to a new culture, language, environment and University life. My hobbies are reading, writing, singing, occasionally dancing / exercising, sp...

Echoes of an advocate #1

Hello guys and welcome back! Yup it's me haha.. I'm alive again. Well it's summer now and exams are done so I've got no excuse not to post every week!  Having thought long and hard about this, I've decide to start a segment separated from my normal blog. It won't be anything long but it's my way of trying to keep a journal. I'm really bad at keeping journals so at the end of everyday, or during the day, I'll write down the things i thought about. I know that I'll be exposing myself but as an aspiring writer, it's something I need to learn sooner than later. So I'll post them whenever I'm not finished with a blogpost for an upcoming week. If you love reading about other people's lives and are interested in what they think about daily, then stay tuned :) Or if you just wanna read something very random and definitely very long then stay tuned :) I'm sure you all know about friendships because they are a fundame...

Why do people lie?

Hello and welcome back! To commence with the first sort of episode in this blog series, I'll start by illustrating my thoughts and findings on a question posed by a friend. This was a question a friend asked on their status once and it got me thinking. I felt compelled to reply and I thought I'd share what I said and why. I'm going to insert exactly how the conversation went.  (I'll also ask a couple of friends and share their responses with you :) This is how it all started. Friend on status: Why do people lie Me: Because people are dumb and don't deserve to be humans  Friend: I like dat Friend: Can I put this on my status Me: Sure Me: Liars ain't humans Me: They're flipping animals. Friend: Don't  u lie Me: Nope Friend: Okay.... how Me: Uh... just tell the truth Me:  Maybe to parents, not the WHOLE truth but I don't lie Me: Just be honest Friend: Sounds so simple Me: Basically if you ...
